So nearly two months since my last post... thats not good but I have been very busy. promise. An exhibition entitled Treasure which i held with five other artists/illustrators has just finished at the Shop Gallery Space on Christmas steps... Thanks to Brett and Jayne for being so lovely and helpful... I plan to rent the space out again some time next year so watch this space.

The image above is a collaberative piece we designed for our promotional poster for "treasure".

New years resolution, I think, amongst others will be to keep this blog up to date!

Making Progress

I've been working quite hard on the narrative project about my old job (working title: "Let Down"). I have been reworking most of the images so they better suit the mundane, dreary atmosphere I want to portray.

I've now done most of the final images, once I've completed them it'll be a case of arranging them into pages for print and the all important text... I'm also planning a group exhibition for later this year.

I've got lots of wood to paint on.

yes, more horses. I've got lots more pieces to paint on though, and they definately won't be all the same subject matter.

Ashton Court Deer

In my spare time, I paint, and walk Todd the dog and if I'm lucky I find a bit of treasure (something useful or beautiful or both). So this is a painting I did on a piece of wood I found by the industrial estate while walking Todd. Its of the deer at Ashton Court, somewhere we go walking if we've got enough time.

More work for the project...

Been getting on with this project at an ok pace considering its done in the time leftover from full time work. It feels good that the situation I'm describing in my work is not one I have to deal with anymore...

work for the project..

'sorry, time for me to go'

These are a couple of the drawing/paintings I'm working on for the narrative. I'm using mainly acrylic with watersoluble pencils for definition and texture. I'm trying to keep the colour palette quite limited: mainly greys, blues, beige.

You've Really Let Me Down

So I haven't put anything up for nearly a month which I feel bad about... this is mainly because I have been too busy hating my job and trying really hard to find a new one. Now I have quit the terrible job and got a different one.

Here's some stuff from my sketchbook, I'm starting to work on a narrative about being miserable because you hate your job.

("you've really let me down"... Something my manager said to me. I felt pretty let down too.)
